Abstract
This interactive workshop will provide composition instructors, literature professors, and writing center directors with transformative assignments that help students maintain their authentic voice while learning to use AI as writing companions. Participants will explore multi-stage reflective assignments, discuss implementation strategies, and leave with several ideas ready for immediate use. Attendees will discuss how to guide students through a balanced approach to AI writing using multi-stage reflective assignments. Each stage includes specific reflection points where students evaluate how AI affects their writing process. The practice helps students leverage AI’s capabilities strategically while developing their unique perspective, voice, and critical thinking skills. This workshop is a resource for anyone interested in integrating AI literacy into their writing instruction while helping students preserve their authentic voices.
