Technology and Social Robots in Helping Children with Autism Learn Social Skills

Abstract

Current research has also shown that virtual reality interventions lead to faster and more stable acquisition of social skills over time. Technology including social robots with vocal technology can play a significant role in helping autistic children develop social skills. A review of the research is presented as well as a review of available vocal technologies from simple to complex for in-home, at-school, and community use.
