AI in the World Language Classroom: Idea Share and Swap Workshop

Abstract

In this workshop we will share examples of AI generated activities and materials we have created for the world language classroom and engage participants in “hands on” development of their own AI assignments - so bring your laptops! We also invite participants to share (through showing or describing) how they have used AI in their language courses. Recognizing that AI is not the end all and be all but that we now struggle with having to “police” its use by our students, we would also like to discuss how to develop activities that prevent students from using AI and again, invite participants to share their own ideas and strategies.
