Artificial Intelligence - Legitimizing Academic Usage

Abstract

This study outlines the creation and implementation of five courses that integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in education. Key areas where AI supports this project include: conducting literature reviews, enhancing data collection and analysis, assisting in writing and editing, improving data visualization, and employing AI-based plagiarism detection. Additionally, AI tools guided participants on effective summarization, identification of main ideas, and paraphrasing techniques. Ethical considerations were prioritized, focusing on the biases and implications of AI (Jobin et al., 2019). The research also incorporated Universal Design for Learning, cooperative learning, and emotional intelligence principles to enhance engagement. Activities such as Emotional Identification Games, Social Situation Simulators, and Interactive Stories were created using various technologies—mobile apps, online platforms, and virtual reality—to foster emotional awareness, regulation, and social skills. This multifaceted approach combines AI-powered methods with evidence-based strategies for teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, and online settings. Findings offer practical insights for educators and researchers on using AI alongside innovative, emotionally supportive techniques to improve student outcomes and foster a respectful, interactive learning environment.
