Abstract
In recent years, the demand for accessible and scalable educational resources has surged, driven by the global proliferation of online learning. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have emerged as a powerful tool for democratizing education, allowing learners from diverse backgrounds to access high-quality content at their own pace. However, existing MOOC platforms are often proprietary, limiting innovation and customization. This presentation introduces an open-source platform designed to overcome these limitations by providing a flexible and community-driven solution for creating and managing MOOCs. The proposed platform is built on modern web technologies, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices and user needs. It leverages a modular architecture, allowing educators and institutions to customize the learning environment according to their specific requirements. Key features include seamless integration with third-party tools, robust analytics for tracking learner progress, and support for multiple languages and accessibility standards. The open-source nature of the platform encourages collaboration among developers, educators, and learners, fostering an ecosystem of continuous improvement and innovation. This presentation will cover the technical architecture of the platform, demonstrate its key features, and discuss the potential impact on the global education landscape. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges and opportunities of developing an open-source MOOC platform, as well as practical strategies for deploying and scaling it in diverse educational contexts. The session aims to inspire educators and technologists to contribute to and adopt this platform, further advancing the mission of making education truly accessible to all.
