Abstract
The growth and increase of the social role of women is one of the important issues that are paid special attention to in various fields of social and political sciences. The issue of gender equality has been accepted in many societies around the world, especially in developing societies. But it still remains a problem in third world countries such as Afghanistan. This study seeks to address the challenges that hinder the growth of women in Afghanistan and examines the reasons that hinder the growth and participation of women in various social spheres. The present research has been done as a library and analysis and valid scientific sources have been used. The analytical method has also been used because the cultural and social context of Afghanistan has been a great challenge for the presence of women leaders. The findings show that Afghan women, along with women around the world, have been fighting for their freedom since the twentieth century and working for social status and political participation. Although most political regimes have enshrined the presence of women in the law, the prevailing traditional climate, illiteracy, cultural poverty, economic backwardness, and insecurity still challenge their equal share in society. Therefore, reviewing these factors helps to become familiar with how it disappears and to see the presence of women alongside men in all areas.
