Exploring Teachers' Perceptions and Challenges in the Implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum: Insights for Improved Educational Practices

Abstract

The MATATAG Curriculum was implemented to make revisions in the K to 12 Revised Basic Education Curriculum. It was instituted in the School Year 2024-2025 and piloted in Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 4, and Grade 7. The study primarily made use of the questionnaire as the main data gathering tool and was administered to 30 teachers. The study found out that there are challenges in the implementation of the aforementioned curriculum particularly on time allotment, provision of resources and support for inclusive education. It is thus recommended to procure more updated resources and teachers should further undergo capacity-building programs.
