Abstract
Are we living through an ethical crisis in the age of Prompt? The provocation is an invitation to reflect on the ethical aspects of using artificial intelligence (AI) systems in everyday life, based on the understanding that ethics is an object of human action and must be considered in artificial activities. There is an urgent need to find ways of incorporating ethics into the development, application and use of AI in all its aspects (Santaella, 2023; Kaufman, 2022). It is necessary to think about how AI crosses the dimensions of consumption (Trindade), culture (Landowski, 2014) and interactions between people and between people and machines. In this sense, the research aims to discuss the aspects of digital media literacy (Ferrari) regarding surveillance, the use and appropriation of data (Zuboff, 2021), the pressures surrounding transparency and the ethical aspects (Da Hora) adopted or not adopted by companies and people in their interactions with the intelligent systems of everyday life. The methodological choice is for interpretative qualitative research with data collection through interviews accompanied by a bibliographic survey on ethics and AI in everyday life. The research is part of the Postdoctoral Internship carried out at the Postgraduate Program in Intelligent Technologies and Digital Design at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo - PUCSP, Brazil.
