Abstract
Instructors worldwide recognize the need of embracing language teaching practices that are not only inclusive but also accessible and free. This presentation will discuss the outcomes of implementing diverse pedagogical and curricular strategies that enrich students learning experience, promote critical thinking, and embrace the diverse identities and expressions of the Hispanic world. More specifically, the presenters will share their experience and propose strategies for integrating non-binary Spanish and voseo into the curriculum. In addition, the presenters will discuss their experience of using open educational resources (OER) that are inclusive, in the spirit of making learning accessible by anyone and from any corner of the world, while also helping to reduce students
financial burdens amid the rising costs of textbooks in higher education. Finally, the presenters will discuss the results of surveys administered among US students in regards with the use of open educational resources (OER) that feature non-binary Spanish and voseo, highlighting their role in promoting inclusive and equitable learning opportunities.
