Abstract
Examining the current context in comparison with other areas from the design field, it is by far noticeable that structural packaging design is currently facing one of the biggest transformations. Structural packaging confronts itself with the provocation of fundamentally reinventing and the alteration is generated by the overall ecological context that constrained manufacturers to identify new solutions to optimize the process of designing containers. The paper analyses the paradigm shifts in the field using qualitative and quantitative research methods and displays the design process and methodologies of two case studies: an innovative oil packaging that was awarded in 2022 with Red Dot and Pentawards and gin bottle packaging that contains an original label design.
