Abstract
Tangelic’s Sunrise Spectrum initiative presents a novel approach to addressing climate change and energy poverty through community ownership and gender equity. By integrating women as key decision-makers, the project empowers communities to manage their renewable energy solutions, creating sustainable and locally-driven models of climate resilience. Drawing on preliminary data from household surveys in Northern Ghana, the initiative focuses on how inclusive decision-making and capacity building can foster long-term success. Early community feedback shows a strong desire for reliable, clean energy and highlights the importance of involving local populations in every step of the process. This presentation will explore how the Sunrise Spectrum initiative works to break the cycle of energy inequality while providing economic empowerment, enhancing climate resilience, and fostering sustainable development. The project’s innovative model aims to inspire scalable solutions for gender equality, energy access, and climate adaptation across vulnerable regions globally.
